Objectives: To review a case demonstrating pubic bone osteomyelitis as a rare complication of periurethral bulking.
Methods: Our video presents a clinical case. We reviewed the relevant literature on pubic bone osteomyelitis after periurethral bulking and other procedures for stress urinary incontinence. We discuss a relevant case of pubic bone osteomyelitis and provide a review of presenting symptoms and treatment options.
Clinical Relevance: Pubic bone osteomyelitis appears to be a very rare complications of periurethral bulking. Discussion of this complication in the literature is limited to one case series of three patients. Our case presentation adds awareness that pubic bone osteomyelitis is a possible complication of periurethral bulking and provides education about presenting symptoms, workup and treatment of this serious complication.
