Dr. Olivia Chang is an Associate Professor of Clinical Urology and OB/GYN at the University of California-Irvine. She is the Division Chief of Urogynecology and Reconstructive Pelvic Surgery in the Department of Urology, and leads the gender diversity surgical program at UCI. She received her medical doctor degree from Tulane University School of Medicine and her Masters in Public Health at Mount Sinai School of Medicine. She completed her OB/GYN residency at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center at Harvard Medical School. After residency, she worked as an ob/gyn in sub-Saharan Africa and was faculty for the OB/GYN residency program at the University of Malawi School of Medicine. Following her return to the United States, she completed a Urogynecology and Reconstructive Pelvic Surgery fellowship at the Cleveland Clinic.
She was in the 3rd cohort of the popular AUGS UrogynCREST program. She completed a KL-2 grant for the development of personalized treatment of neurogenic bladder in patients with multiple sclerosis utilizing machine learning and artificial intelligence. She has published over 60 peer-reviewed articles and 4 book chapters. She has her own lab with a committed focus on the impact of hysterectomy and hysteropexy on pelvic floor disorders, patients' views of uterine preservation, and utilizing AI in treatment of pelvic floor disorders.
