Dr. Baraah Abu Karen, MD, is a resident physician in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Soroka University Medical Center and a lecturer at the Faculty of Health Sciences, Ben-Gurion University of the Negev.
She is actively involved in clinical practice, research, and the education of medical students at Ben-Gurion University. Alongside her residency training, Dr. Abu Karen participates in research projects in obstetrics and gynecology and has presented her work in international scientific forums. Throughout her career she has received several certificates of recognition for excellence and patient care, including a recent award for outstanding communication with patients.
In addition to her academic and clinical roles, Dr. Abu Karen is engaged in community leadership and women’s health advocacy. She mentors and lectures in empowerment programs for Arab and Bedouin women in the Negev, focusing on education, health promotion, and equity in access to care.
