Dr. Darren Lazare completed his residency training in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of British Columbia. He then went on to complete a subspecialty fellowship in Urogynecology at the University of Alberta. His clinical practice and research focus is on female pelvic medicine and reconstructive surgery which encompasses conservative and surgical management of incontinence, pelvic organ prolapse, mesh complications, and obstetric injury.
Dr. Lazare is the Program Medical Director of the Mother Infant Child Youth (MICY) program. He is a member of the UBC Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology Executive. Dr. Lazare is committed to quality improvement and patient safety, serving as a National Surgical Quality Improvement Program (NSQIP) Surgeon Champion at Jim Pattison Outpatient Care and Surgery Centre.
