Alexis Griffin Bonhomme, MD, FACOG is a third year Urogynecology and Reconstructive Pelvic Surgery (URPS) fellow at Massachusetts General Hospital. She is originally from Montgomery, AL and received a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Wellesley College in 2015. Following her undergraduate training, she earned a medical degree from the University of South Alabama, College of Medicine in 2019 and subsequently completed an Obstetrics & Gynecology residency at Tufts Medicine in 2023. In her current role, at Massachusetts General Hosptial, she serves as a clinical instructor at Harvard Medical School. She is the founder of the Switchboard, a mentorship and shadowing program for students of color at Wellesley College and serves as a faculty advisor for the Student National Medical Association at Tufts School of Medicine. Her research interests include a multitude of clinical and community-based projects, most notably, a project on disparities in Urogynecologic care in communities of color. She is the author of several journal articles on racism in medicine and the co-author of a children's book entitled, The She Series. She is dedicated to medical education, the recruitment and retention of individuals who are underrepresented in medicine, and the elimination of healthcare disparities. In 2026, she will join the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB), as an Assistant Professor in Urogynecology and Reconstructive Pelvic Surgery.
