Dr Walter completed a Urogynecology clinical and research fellowship at Western University in 2007. He established the McGill Fellowship in Female Pelvic Medicine and Reconstructive Surgery in 2012 and served as its Program Director for 8 years. He has served as the Committee Chair of the Mesh Complications Writing Group within the Canadian Society for Pelvic Medicine (CSPM) and is the director of the mesh complication centre of excellence clinic at Ste Justine Hospital, University of Montreal. He has been a member of the Specialty Committee of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada and both Scientific and Publications Committees of the American Urogynecologic Society. He is one of two Canadian faculty accredited for training of the vNOTES procedure. His clinical interests reside within the management of early-onset pelvic organ prolapse and mesh complications.
