Dr. Amundsen is the Roy T. Parker Endowed Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Division of Urogynecology & Reconstructive Pelvic Surgery, and Professor of Urology, Duke University. Her research has focused on lower urinary tract and pelvic floor disorders, and she has developed interdisciplinary collaborations which led to over 20 years of the National Institute of Health (NIH) funding and over 150 peer-reviewed manuscripts. She is co-PI in the NIH-sponsored Lower Urinary Tract Network (LURN), a co-investigator for the NIH-sponsored Clinical Trials Network for Pelvic Floor Disorders (PFD), and a member of a PCORI data safety monitoring board. For over 20 years she was the Program Director for the Female Pelvic Medicine and Reconstructive Surgery Fellowship. Dr. Amundsen is PI/PD of the NIDDK Multidisciplinary Benign Urology Research Scholars Career Development Program (KURe), NICHD Building Interdisciplinary Research Careers in Women’s Health (BIRCWH) K12 programs and NICHD R25 AUGS/Duke Clinical Research Education Scientist Training (UrogynCREST) Program, an exciting and novel national training program for junior faculty interested in health services research and predictive analytics. She is a member of the NIH Career Development Awards: Health Interventions and Clinical Care Study Section. Recently, she was recognized by the Duke School of Medicine with the Career Mentoring Award for Clinical/Population Health Science for her efforts to train the next generation of physician-scientists.
