Cara Grimes, MD, MAS, is currently a Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology and Vice Chair of Research and Faculty Development at Albany Medical College.
She completed her undergraduate at Johns Hopkins majoring in Neuroscience. She then spent two years as high school teacher with Teach for America in Oakland, California. She completed her medical degree at Cornell and her OB GYN training at Dartmouth-Hitchcock and Johns Hopkins Hospital. She then completed a Female Pelvic Medicine and Reconstructive Surgery at University of California San Diego while also obtaining a Masters in Advanced Studies of Clinical Research.
She enjoys research and has been involved in multiple collaborative research networks including the Systematic Review Group and the Fellows Pelvic Floor Research Network through the Society of Gynecologic Surgeons. She is the founder of the Collaborative Research in Pelvic Surgery Consortium which is a multi-center research network committed to advancing research and understanding of female pelvic floor disorders and is now housed in SGS.
